Why is it Important to Rescue Cetaceans?

To learn more about the species

Closely studying stranded cetaceans (dead or alive) helps us understand more about their populations and species, in a way that is only possible if we have close access that would be impossible to achieve with wild animals

To understand WHY they strand, and how we can protect them

If we closely pinpoint why certain individuals and populations are struggling, we can be better equipped to advocate for proper protection and preservation for them moving forward

To teach people about our oceans

Rescued animals who cannot be released can serve as educational ambassadors to teach guests more about the challenges wild whales and dolphins face. Their stories inspire people to take action to protect our oceans and marine life
